"Bruce - you're right that blogs are often more opinionated and read like editorials rather than pure news pieces. However, it's still important that bloggers are held accountable and stick to the basic principles of journalistic integrity. Fact checking and transparency should be expected from bloggers and 'traditional' journalists alike. I think blogs (especially within mainstream media sites) should also be vetting sources with the same rigor. It's an interesting debate, so thanks for bringing it up."
